Gotham’s Late-Night Bites!
Bande des Quatres Collection II Presentation
We were very proud to host the Bande des Quatres Collection II presentation on Friday, January 20th on the 2nd Floor Terrace. Bande des Quatres is a collaboration between designer Erin Wahed and her mom, Janis Kerman (a well-known Canadian jeweler), who hand-crafts each piece to order. The collection is available to purchase on the newly revamped website – check it out here.
Following the success of the presentation, we had an after-party hosted by Erin and the Bowery’s Laura Cooper Brown with a line up including DJs Class Actress, Austin Peters and Ethan Silverman of Terrible Records, and a live performance by BELL. A great night was had by all!
Neighborhood spots: Please Don’t Tell…
With a plethora of prohibition-style speakeasies in the city nowadays, it’s tricky to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. But there are few hidden bars that are always worth discovering…
PDT, for instance, is a modern classic. Standing for ‘Please Don’t Tell’, this cocktail bar is located in an unlikely spot – Crif Dogs on St. Marks Place. Once inside you have to step into a phone-booth and announce yourself to the hostess via telephone. The cocktails are to die for, as are the specialty hot dogs by New York super-chefs like Wylie Dufresne and David Chang. And a lovely feature is that there is no standing room; they only allow in the number of people who can actually get a seat. To be safe you can make a same day reservation or you can walk in but prepare to wait!
Time Out’s Best Winter Bars!
Our lobby bar is featured in Time Out’s Best Winter Bars! We’re in fine company amongst other cozy haunts in the city. The full feature is: here.
